Poem: Unjustified

just a little drop, even before,
and guilt comes to me.
the interdiction I have imposed myself,
stronger than the thing itself,
makes me drunk.

intoxicated with an unjustified remorse,
I tremble, I fear,
I lose my balance,
and then I fall asleep.
I put to rest my unjustified shame.

This poem was written in French on August 6th, 2007, under the title “Injustifiée”.
