Poem: Some Flowers

a few fresh flowers
which I put on the table
the shining sun
which fills the room

your pretty smiling face
and your arms greeting me
later, my head on your generous chest
I listen to your heart beating

ahead of hate, we are in love
neither in defiance nor in daring
neither as a choice nor as false pretense
but only because we love each other

This poem was written in French on June 2nd, 2007, under the title “Quelques fleurs (Florence 2)”.
